SUN Bucks Summer Food Program Renewed For Kids in 2025!
California’s Summer EBT program, known as SUN Bucks, is returning in 2025. This food program provides families $40 per month for food in June, July, and August ($120 total) when children do not have access to school meals
Who Qualifies?
Children are automatically enrolled and do not need to apply if they:
· Receive CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal (with income under eligibility thresholds)
· Are certified for free or reduced-price meals through a school meal application or an alternative income form
· Attend a school that provides free meals to all students under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)
Who Needs to Apply?
If your child does not fall into one of the categories above, but your household income qualifies for free or reduced-price meals, you must complete a school meal application or an Alternative Income Form to ensure your child receives SUN Bucks.
The SUN Bucks helpline is available for cardholder assistance at (877) 328-9677. The helpline provides automated support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Live agents are available Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. To check your benefit balance and claim status, visit the California EBT cardholder website.
