Welcome back to in-person school! SPVUSD is so excited to see students on campus beginning August 10.

To be proactive and alleviate COVID concerns regarding symptoms, we are asking you to participate in our online program called Catapult. Monday through Friday, you will be prompted to sign into Catapult either through the parents' phone number via text or through the students' school email. You will be asked to answer yes or no to six questions regarding COVID symptoms. The process is very simple and quick. By participating in the online Catapult health screen each day, you are confirming that your child is healthy enough to come to school.

Catapult will start on August 6 as a practice, August 9 to verify we have everyone set up, and then when school starts on August 10 it will be the real screen check. We know anything new is sometimes confusing, if you need us to assist you initially, please contact the front office of your child's school.

Hola padres y tutores.

Hello Parents & Guardians.

We are excited to bring students on campus next week. Returning to campus requires us to be cautious and deliberate in our safety protocols. Right now we are returning to campus with only 25% of the student population. In the near future we hope to add more students. District staff will reach out to families as we move to increase the number of students moving to on-site instruction in addition to distance learning.

If your child is returning to in person learning on Monday, April 19, 2021 please read below:

I understand that to attend school, my child must be free from COVID- 19 symptoms and must wear a mask.  If, during the day, any of the following symptoms appear, your child will be moved to the Wellness room.  Parents/guardians will be contacted, and the child MUST be picked up within one (1) hour of being notified.

   Symptoms include:

  • Fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
  • Chills
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Any other symptom of illness, whether or not you believe it’s related to COVID-19

While the District understands that many of these symptoms can also be due to non-COVID-19-related issues, we must proceed with an abundance of caution.

In addition, you are encouraged to participate in our online program called Catapult, which helps screen your child for COVID symptoms. You will receive a text and your child(ren) will receive an email on their school email account. Parents and students can log in and report COVID check status through Catapult.

We look forward to seeing your child. Thank you for being patient and gracious through our staggered return.
