Early Release Day (1:15 pm Release) - Disaster DrillDistrict Office Events

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We want you to be aware that the schools of the San Pasqual Valley Unified School District have made many preparations to deal effectively with emergency situations that could occur in, or around, our schools while your child is arriving to school, in class, or leaving school.  While we hope that a natural disaster or other serious incident never occurs, our goal is to be prepared for any potential emergency. It is always our first priority to protect all students, staff, and visitors from harm and we pledge ourselves to that cause.

As part of our effort to be more fully prepared for any type of emergency, the schools of the San Pasqual Valley Unified School District want to alert you to an upcoming drill.

On December 13, all of the San Pasqual Valley Schools will be practicing what to do if an unidentified intruder comes on to our campuses.

Our drill will begin at approximately 12:15.  All students and staff will participate in a District wide lockdown, with students remaining in their classrooms with teachers.

Local law enforcement officers will then conduct a simulated search for the “intruder” across all of our campuses.  As soon as that sweep is done, our students will practice evacuating their classrooms and be escorted to board our buses.  All buses should depart by 1:25 that afternoon.  Please plan on students potentially arriving home either a little earlier than usual or a little later.

ASES and Athletic practices will still take place as normal for a short day schedule.

At all times our students will be in a safe and secure environment, under school supervision, until they depart the school and return home.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call your child’s school @ 760-572-0222.
